what’s your freedom number?
I started with a very simple question: what will give me financial freedom right now? For me, that number is $3k a month. I’m determined to reach that goal by 2025, and here’s how I plan to do it.
My Daily Hustle
I work at a Korean restaurant five days a week. My day takes about 14.5 hours (including travel time). I come home exhausted and in pain, and every day I pray for a way out. I know life can be better—I refuse to just let things stay the same.
Finding a Way Out: My Business Idea
I thought about starting my own business. But I had two big problems:
-
- Limited Money and Skills: I’m a student at Daejin University, struggling with tuition and supporting my family. I don’t have the time or money to learn high-tech skills.
-
- Learning from Others: Luckily, I get inspired by creators like Noah Kagan and Ali Abdaal who started with little and built something great.
Since I don’t have tech skills, I decided the best way for me is to start a blog. I want to share my story, tips, and experiences to help others—especially about Korean travel and lifestyle.
Why Korean Travel?
I discovered that Korean travel is huge. For example, tourism contributed about 4.2% to South Korea’s GDP in 2019 (Wikipedia – Tourism in South Korea
en.wikipedia.org). Plus, with the Korean Wave (Hallyu) bringing global attention to everything Korean, there’s a big audience out there. It’s the perfect niche for me.
How I’m Building My Blog
1. Pick Your Niche
I built my idea on three simple points:
-
- My Interests: I love Korean culture, food, and travel.
-
- My Experience: I know what it’s like to work hard and struggle.
-
- The Value I Offer: I share honest tips and personal stories that help others.
2. Do Some Research
-
- Check Google Trends: Use Google Trends to see what people are searching for about Korean travel.
3. Plan How to Make Money
Ask yourself:
-
- Who will pay for what I do?
I might use Google AdSense to earn from ads.
- Who will pay for what I do?
-
- Can I sell something?
When I have a steady following, I can sell travel guides, e-books, or work with Korean tourism companies through affiliate links.
- Can I sell something?
-
- How big can this get?
If it grows, I might even sell the website later on Flippa.

4. Get Your Tools in Place
-
- Start Your Website:
All you need is a domain and hosting. I recommend Hostinger for a budget-friendly option.
- Start Your Website:
-
- Build an Email List:
I plan to run a daily or weekly newsletter. Tools like Mailchimp make it easy.
- Build an Email List:
-
- Grow on Social Media:
I want to get 100k Instagram followers. Social media will help spread the word and bring more visitors to my site.
- Grow on Social Media:
My 2025 Goals
-
- Website: 150,000 monthly visitors
-
- Instagram: 100,000 followers
-
- Newsletter: 50,000 subscribers
More visitors mean more chances to earn through ads and affiliate deals. A big social media following makes my brand strong, and an email list gives me a direct way to connect with my audience.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t just about making an extra $3k a month—it’s about creating the life I want. I want to break free from long, exhausting days and build something that makes me happy and secure. With patience, hard work, and the right plan, I believe I can make it happen.
If you’re ready to take control of your future too, follow these simple steps, learn as you go, and keep pushing forward. Your journey to freedom starts with a single step.
